The BSR Consultation Process

The BSR Consultation Process

Everyone’s BSR journey begins with booking three initial sessions. I aim to schedule sessions on day 1, day 4, & day 11. Although releasing can occur rapidly for some individuals, others respond more gradually and we schedule each release according to the clients progress. The three sessions are typically just the beginning of the healing process, and allows the client and practitioner to see a thorough picture of how the body is responding to the technique. Outline below is three phase approach to unlocking of tension and the journey to steady state self-healing.

What can you expect during your first sessions?

Phase 1 The Intensive Phase:

During your first session, you will provide a complete case history to be recorded on your personal, confidential client card. I will discuss your current concerns and what brings you to BSR, where are your specific aches, pains, or stiffness. An explanation about BSR and the release will be given before having you lie fully clothed on a uniquely designed, padded BSR couch.

Next, your body will be assessed throughout the session, mainly along the spinal column, by testing for where stress is being stored. The testing involves using a light touch on specific sites and observing the body’s biofeedback response, indicating whether or not stress is present in the tested area. Once the testing has indicated the precise patterns of stress, tension is released, by hand, with comfortable pressure and slight impulse from the practitioner’s hands. I will then explain my findings, schedule the next appointment and give specific advice on resting, posture, and light exercises to undertake between sessions. The Intensive Phase may last three sessions or be extended until the major concern has been addressed satisfactorily.

Follow-up Sessions

Phase 2 Deeper Stress Release:

Following each release, you will be given information on what stress patterns were discovered throughout the body during the release and any other relevant observations regarding muscle tone and tension. Often in subsequent sessions the stress patterns shift and change, indicating the body’s response to the previous release. In addition to these observations, based on your unique case, you will be encouraged to use the self-help tips recommended by your practitioner in follow-up appointments.

This phase is to continue unlocking stored tension and body stress at deeper levels as the body returns to an optimal state of well-being.

Maintenance

Phase 3 Maintenance:

Most people honor the principle of prevention when it comes to their car, ensuring that it is serviced on a regular basis. BSR and the prevention of stress build-up should become a regular part of your health care regimen. “Maintenance” sessions are strongly recommended every 4 to 6 weeks depending on your unique situation. I will also recommend exercises during this phase to encourage good posture and strengthening specific muscle groups in accordance with BSR guidelines.

NOTE: Body Stress Release is not a diagnosis or treatment of any condition or disease.  It is concerned only with locating and releasing stored tension, so that the body is assisted in its in-built ability to maintain and heal itself.
